About Us

    Navajyothi Senior Secondary School is a Co-educational institution affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi. The School was established in the year of 2000. It is run by the Sisters of Sacred Heart Congregation (SH), Thalassery Province through a registered body "St. Joseph's Educational and Charitable Trust of Sacred Heart Congregation." Our Sisters are active in the field of education and the Institution is a part of the Catholic Church's effort to Educate and Empower the people of India. 

    Navajyothi is a teaching, learning community of interpersonal relationships and interdependence. The Management, the staff, the students and the parents together constitute the school community. The many-sided relationship among these stakeholders form is a part of the educational process at Navajyolhi School. Navajyothi School is a minority institution primarily intended to give Catholic Education to Catholic Children. The school is open to all students irrespective of caste and creed; they are accepted and cherished as they are and helped to grow in their cultural, social and religious traditions. Value Education is compulsory for all.

Rules and Regulations

Rules

01/

ADMISSION

The school year begins in June and ends in March.  Admission is restricted by certain policies of the Management and by conditions of age, ability and conduct.

At the time of admission the student should be personally introduced by the parent / guardian who will be responsible to the school authorities for his / her studies and conduct.

02/

WITHDRAWAL

Notice of withdrawals must be given fifteen days in advance on transfer Certificate form .  T.C. application is available in the school office.  On no accounts can be Transfer certificate be issued to a pupil whose fees have not been fully paid.

03/

DISMISSAL

Irregular attendance, habitual idleness, disobedience or defiance of authority, malpractice in connection with examination, lack sufficient improvement in conduct and studies even after warnings or conduct injurious to the moral tone of the school are sufficient reasons for the dismissal of a student.

             A student who fails more than once in the same class shall be removed from the rolls.

04/

ATTENDANCE

No student shall be absent from class without sufficient reason.  Parents / guardians must clearly state the reason for the absence in the leave record of the School Diary.

05/

Students are not allowed to go out of the campus during school hours, including recess time.

06/

Those who absent themselves without prior permission shall not enter the class without the principal’s permission. Unauthorized absence for more than 15 days will lead to removal from the rolls.

07/

Students suffering from contagious diseases will not be permitted to attend school.  In case of serious illness the Principal must be informed within 5 days and a doctor’s certificate should be submitted

08/

Text books, note-books, bags, tiffin box etc. should bear the name and class of the owner.  The school is not responsible for any such thing that gets lost.

09/

Once a student attends the school he / she will not be allowed any sort of leave.  In case of emergency, the child will be escorted home by the parent with the written permission of the Principal.

10/

Class monitors shall maintain the class discipline in the absence of the teacher.  All students should co – operate with the Monitor in maintaining the discipline of the class.  Don’t send your ward to the school when they are suffering disease.

11/

Students shall come to school only in the prescribed uniform from Monday to Saturday. Children should respect the school uniform. Students are advised to be neat in appearance in school, while travelling to and form the school or while attending a school function.

12/

No jewellery is permitted except small ear studs. Girls must use only black hair bands and clips. 

13/

All Boys should wear vests and all Girls should wear petticoats Students shall attend classes only in the uniforms.It must always be worn neat and tidy. It is the duty of the parents to see that their son/daughter goes to school in their prescribed uniform. If they don't, they are liable to be sent back home. The school does not take any responsibility for them. 

14/

Students shall be rsponsible for the safe custody of their belongings,. It is suggested that their names be inscribed on articles like lunch boxes, school bags and umbrellas. Lost articles deposited in the school office must be claimed within a month.
